During these two first short vigils, I have received occasional friendly signs, rare but much appreciated, people in cars, bus-drivers, a few people saying hello, or smiles from pedestrians, including people who work at WHO. This afternoon one of the security guards from WHO came towards me, from several metres away, he said hello, while I prepared myself for being interrogated, he asked me “Are you alright?”. Friendly visit from Christine Franquet, deputy-mayor of Ferney-Voltaire.

My first week of doing the vigil … It has rained every day !!! and not just a little bit … but what a joy to feel in the right place to fight against something so unjust … So, many thanks to those people who came up with this way of doing things. Tanks to those who built this amazing trolley! Thanks to those vigilers from Geneva who visit and offer encouragement, support, and to chat and to take over for a spell … (it was great to be relieved on the Wednesday morning after the Tuesday when it had not stopped raining … and then that broke up the week …) And thanks to my co-vigiler, Philippe who had thought of the torch (really useful at this time of year for opening the padlock!). Thanks for the hospitality and lodgings in Geneva which, since it wasn’t too far away, gave me the chance to walk around a bit and discover all these international organizations… there really are too many of them!!!

There you are; I am very happy to have spent this week in this way... Good luck to those who came after me and … I’ll see you next time if the problem is not sorted out quickly!
