I took up my place in front of WHO …
Simply standing on a pavement next to a placard with its message – which public opinion is still very slow to understand – that Chernobyl is a continuing crime. Passive and non-violent in its appearance, this demonstration still amounts to a denunciation. The number of victims is astounding and still continues to rise. Simply standing on a pavement can sometimes seem ridiculous or useless. Then we remember in our hearts that even that can be incredibly significant. I feel in the right, in the right place, better than anywhere else in the world. By being here, facing the foremost symbol of the safeguarding of the health of the people of the world, the World Health Organisation, I have taken a stand and publicly declared the WHO&#&46s dereliction of duty, their failure to protect the wellbeing of the world’s people. I thank this wonderful association of ordinary people - cf. “sortirdunucléaire.fr” – who have allowed me to be a part of this. For several days I have had the honour of being part of this team who - like a group of Don Quixotes – follow each other to take their place opposing the armies of windmills of appallingly irresponsible and cynical liars.
To feel yourself representing part of the soul of humanity, of a collective unconscious – that is a sacred and fulfilling experience.
Good luck in the future … Fraternal greetings.
Dominique Maddaléna
